DANCE CHURCH on January 11th

DANCE CHURCH: A spiritual but non-religious event

Date: SECOND Sunday of the month (January 11th)

Time: 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Decatur School of Ballet
102 Church Street,
Decatur, Georgia 30030

suggested donation: $5
Dancing will begin promptly at 10:30 a.m., ending with our closing circle a little before noon.

You may bring an item(s) to place on the community altar, if you'd like.

Children are welcome as well, with no extra donation expected.

"DanceChurch" is a diverse gathering to honor the body/spirit connection, celebrate life, and build community through improvisational movement, artistic expression, and an openness to the sacred, however defined.

Do your yoga, stretch, roll around on the floor, boogie; dance alone, with another, with others; connect with your own spirit and that of whatever may be greater. A circle will end the gathering and a variety of music will be played.

Dance to music in a space made sacred by an improvised, community altar. (Please feel free to bring an item(s) for the altar!) Dancers arrive and leave as they choose. All bodies, all dance abilities, all forms of spirituality are welcome.

Administered by Anneke Bender, Charlie Brockett, and Louise Runyon
