WonderRoot is pleased to announce the WonderRoot Center for Arts & Social Change, a 54,000 square foot, 8-acre campus for artists and community located in Reynoldstown at the heart of the east Atlanta neighborhoods. Marking the next phase of WonderRoot’s development as Atlanta’s leading organization for arts and community empowerment, the former Tech High/Hubert Elementary school building will house 28,000 square feet of private studio space for artists, nonprofit organizations and small creative businesses; a visual arts gallery; performance venue for theater, dance and film; cafe open to the public; educational spaces; and a series of production facilities for artists, including a recording studio, printmaking studio, darkroom, ceramics studio, digital media lab, and dance rehearsal studio.  Celebrating our 10th anniversary this summer, WonderRoot remains committed to its founding mission of uniting artists and community to inspire positive social change!
Studio Rentals
For those interested in leasing studio space (artists, creative businesses, nonprofits), we invite you to complete a preliminary studio rental application.  WonderRoot is currently offering an “early-bird special” for those who apply prior to October 1, 2014.  The benefits of early applicants include: preferred access in selecting your studio space, an all-inclusive one-year membership to the WonderRoot Center for Arts & Social Change, store discount to Binders Art & Supply and greater influence on the programming developed specifically for the studio tenants.  For more details on the studios and to apply, PLEASE CLICK HERE.  You can also read a series of frequently asked questions about theSTUDIO RENTAL PROGRAM HERE.
How to Get Involved
WonderRoot has been encouraged and motivated by the more than 100 individuals who have contributed their time and energy to bring this vision to its current stage.  As WonderRoot is a community-based organization, we feel feel strongly that the programs, services and activities taking place at the new arts center are aligned with the expressed need and interests of the communities that we serve.  With this in mind, we invite those interested to submit their ideas about what they would like to see happen at the WonderRoot Center for Arts & Social Change.  We’re looking for your thoughts about things like family art classes, a sculpture garden, free film nights and so on.  Please keep in mind that WonderRoot is a mission focused organization working at the intersection of art and community empowerment. Meaning, it’s unlikely that we’ll start offering car maintenance classes (even though it’d probably be helpful for a lot of us to know that kind of stuff).  If you have ideas about what you’d like to see, PLEASE SHARE THEM HERE. Beginning this fall, our staff and board will start reviewing what’s possible and will be in touch should you wish to help make your idea a reality.

CALL FOR ARTIST PROPOSALS: The WonderRoot CSA is now accepting artist proposals for Season 06!

For CSA Season 06, WonderRoot is partnering with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation. AVLF provides high-quality, free legal representation to low-income Atlantans. Through a diversity of programs tailored to meet the legal needs of the community, volunteer lawyers work to leverage the full power, resources and passion of the legal community so that Atlantans are not deprived of basic civil legal needs without the benefit of a lawyer.
In the spirit of WonderRoot's mission of bringing together artists and community to inspire positive social change, CSA Season 06 artists are encouraged to submit proposals inspired by AVLF's commitment to civil rights, equity, volunteerism, and the building of healthy communities.
